How can high quality wine have zero sugar?
During the winemaking process, natural sugars in grapes are converted into alcohol through fermentation. When this process is fully completed with no sugar left behind, the result is what’s known as a “dry” wine.
Many mass-produced wines, especially those found in big box stores often contain added sugars and other FDA-approved additives. These are used to cover up imperfections, boost flavor artificially, and cut production costs by using fewer grapes. While it can make the wine taste sweeter or more “approachable,” it’s not the cleanest way to make wine.
At Gratsi, we do things differently. We partner only with small, low-intervention winemakers who never add sugars or artificial additives. Our wines are crafted with care and transparency. Sourced from certified sustainable vineyards in Europe that follow organic growing and cellar practices.
Every glass of Gratsi has:
Zero added sugar (just 0.14–0.2g of natural sugar per glass)
Low carbs (1g per glass)
And no artificial nonsense, just real, clean wine made the way it should be.
We believe wine should taste great because it’s made right, not because something was added to it. Cheers to drinking the good stuff!
Are Gratsi wines sustainably made?
Absolutely. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our wines are farmed without pesticides and crafted with care for both people and the planet.
We ditched the wasteful packaging and opted for recyclable boxes and BPA-free, food-grade liners that can be recycled. Choosing boxed wine over bottles cuts the carbon footprint by more than 85%, a win for wine lovers and the Earth.
Our pouches? Also BPA-free, food-grade, and 100% recyclable. They’re made without PVC, PVDC, GMOs, biocides, allergens, nanoparticles, phthalates, PFAS, or petroleum. Just clean, conscious materials, paired with ultra-fine cross-flow filtration to keep your wine as pure as it should be.
Inspired by the slow Mediterranean lifestyle with morning walks, fresh food, and a carafe of local wine. Gratsi is here to bring that ease and joy back home. No added sugars. None of 76 FDA-approved wine additives found in American made wine. No unnecessary waste. Just a reminder to Live Slow & Live More!
Does the wine have additives?
Nope! You won’t find any one of the 76 additives the FDA allows in American made wine. At Gratsi, we believe in keeping things clean and simple. That means no added sugars, no artificial colorings, no chemical preservatives, and no unnecessary extras.
We hand-select vineyards throughout Europe that share our values, so what ends up in your glass is just real wine — sustainably made, gently filtered, and full of character. It's wine the way it should be.
Cheers to honest ingredients and slow living.
How many bottles of wine per box?
Each 3 liter box of Gratsi contains 4 bottles of wine which is around 20 glasses.
Do you have a smaller sampler option?
No, but we offer single quantities of each of our wines. If you don't absolutely love the one you choose, we'll refund or swap your order if requested within 60 days of the delivery date.
Are there sulfites in the wine?
Yes, but only the bare minimum. All wines naturally contain some sulfites (they’re found in grape skins!), and at Gratsi, we keep ours as low as possible.
We stay well below the maximums allowed for organic wines and only add a tiny amount, just enough to keep the wine fresh and stable in its packaging. No heavy-handed processing, no unnecessary additives, just minimal intervention and clean, honest wine.
Can I tell if I will be allergic?
Our wine is made from 100% grapes! If you are not allergic to grapes you should be fine.
Where are Gratsi wines made?
Gratsi Red: South of France & Sicily (90% from France, 10% from Italy)
Gratsi White & Rosé: South of France
Why are the wines blends?
Blending varietals allows us to make amazing wine profiles. Varietal-specific wines give you less freedom.
Are the wines organic?
They are not certified organic but they are sustainably farmed. Our wines are grown and cellared organically, made with minimal intervention and without the use of unnatural or unnecessary ingredients. Cheers!
Are your wines vegan-friendly?
Yes
How long does the wine stay fresh after opening?
Gratsi tastes great up to 30 days after opening.
Are you allowed to put premium wines in a box?
The box keeps out more oxygen than corks. The BPA-free food grade plastic we use has no impact on the wine flavor or aroma. Boxed wine is much more convenient, less expensive and a more environmentally friendly way to drink great wine.
Does the box have an affect on the taste?
No! The BPA-free, food-grade plastic bag has no impact on the wine. If you tried the same wine from a bottle and from a box, you wouldn’t know the difference.
Is it recyclable?
Yes! The wine and shipping boxes are recyclable. Simply put them in with your cardboard recyclables. The inner bag can be recycled in some areas. You'll need to check with your service provider. If so, cut the top of the bag when finished and give it a quick rinse. Then put it in your other plastic recyclables.
What makes boxes more sustainable than glass?
Boxed wine reduces the carbon footprint by over 85%!
Glass, in theory, is infinitely recyclable. However, in practice, only 33% of glass in the US actually is.
Glass bottles are made in huge furnaces that take a lot of energy to operate. And most manufacturers keep their furnaces running all year because of the time it takes to heat them to production temps.
Glass is also very heavy so transporting it takes a lot of energy. Since the majority of glass isn’t produced in the US, getting it here has a real impact.
We use corrugated cardboard with natural inks. It is easily recyclable and even when not, biodegrades within weeks.
Our bags are recyclable in certain areas, BPA-free and food-grade. They also transport extremely efficiently due to their light weight and small volume when empty.
