Ingredients

  • 1

    pre-made pizza dough or homemade dough

  • 1

    can (400g) crushed San Marzano tomatoes

  • 2-3

    cloves of garlic, thinly sliced

  • 6-8

    anchovy filets in olive oil, chopped (or a small tin of tuna, drained)

  • 1

    teaspoon dried oregano

  • 2

    tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2

    cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved

  • 2

    tablespoons capers, rinsed

  • Handful of fresh basil leaves, torn

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: red pepper flakes for extra heat

Step 1

Stretch out the pizza dough to your desired thickness on a lightly floured surface.

Spread the crushed San Marzano tomatoes evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 3

Distribute the chopped anchovy filets evenly over the pizza.

Step 5

Drizzle olive oil over the pizza and tear fresh basil on top of the pizza.

Carefully transfer the pizza to a preheated oven (475°F or higher) and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the toppings are slightly charred.

Step 7

Once out of the oven, sprinkle dried oregano and torn fresh basil leaves over the top.

Step 8

Slice and serve hot. Add red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
